Chinese Astrology Compatibility Analysis With Zi Wei Dou Shu and Four Pillars

You have fallen in love. Can using Chinese Astrology compatibility analysis tell you if both of you are ready for a lasting, committed relationship?

The Chinese up to the early twentieth century have used matchmakers to decide marriage partners. Professional matchmakers use the very techniques explained on this site, putting strong focus on the subjects' birth data and its five-elements representation.

Most common would be to analyze by charting the Four pillars of both subjects' birth, using the Four Pillars Calculator.

How to do a quick analysis of your four pillars

First, input the date and time of your birth, and then make another chart of your partner's. Print the charts out and analyze, like so:

  • What element is your "Day Stem"?

The Day Stem is the Heavenly stem which represents the day of birth. It is found directly below the "Day" column of the four pillar chart.

  • What is your favorable element?

Pay attention to the Hour, Day, Month and Year stems and branches of your four pillars chart. What is the predominating element?

How is element in relation to your day stem element? Analyze this using the five element theory. That's the basis of Chinese astrology compatibility analysis.

For example, if your day stem is "9 Ren" which is water element, and you have mostly earth and and fire element in your four pillars, this means that your four pillars need more water and metal.

Chances are that you'll find a compatible partner which has more of your supporting elements (water and metal) elements in his chart.

Note that this is just a quick method of chinese astrology compatibility analysis. The actual processes are much more complicated, of course.

Analyze both parties Zi Wei Dou Shu spouse courts

Do the charts indicate a generally harmonious relationship with the spouse? Or a brittle-anytime-can-explode married life?

Look at the current year Zi Wei Dou Shu charts. There may be 10-year cycles in a person's life when the Spouse Court is auspicious. In general, it both parties' charts indicate "marriage luck", chances are romance will flourish. How long lasting it will be, of course depends on the original birth chart and the future decade charts.

In Zi Wei Dou Shu Charts, it is important to remember that Auspicious "Spouse" sectors indicated by wealth stars and transformations do not necessary mean harmonious relationships, but rather lots of relationships. That could spell problems with marital affairs. This problem is enhanced by the presence of peach blossom stars. The best way to analyze harmonious marriage luck is to analyze the characters of the major stars in the spouse courts.

Some people will inadvertenly find that their Spouse courts indicate less than perfect situations. Take heart, because there will be cyclical ups to the downs and vice versa. The "luckiest" people are those who know how to ride the rollercoaster of life!
