Charting the Zi Wei Dou Shu ChartAnatomy of a Zi Wei Dou Shu Chart Click the image below to enlarge: This is what a ZiWei DOu Shu Chart looks like. This astrology chart is composed of 12 cells, called the "Courts". Each cell has a yin/yang and 5 element property by itself. Each is represented by a stem and branch. Each court will represent a Life Aspect. Within the courts lie the Stars. There are 2 categories of stars, the Major(in red) and Helper (in lilac) Stars. The stars can be affected by Transformations energies (in blue). Besides reading the natal chart, i.e the main life blueprint, Zi Wei Dou Shu also enables you to get readings of 10-year life cycles (in green). This re-arrages the locations of the Life aspects, transformations, and some of the minor Stars. Further calculations can be done for the year -to-year cycles, but they will not be covered here so much to avoid cluttering the charts, and also, we feel that working on mid to long-term goals is most effective for the individual. There are countless other minor stars that are also not included here. These make small rippling effects in the charts, but add to clutter and confusion. Most practitioners do not use them. I.
